Accessibility

LocoYoko is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control and keyboard-only navigation. We believe great coffee — and a great online experience — should be within everyone’s reach.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognised benchmark for accessible websites. As a Canadian-owned business, we also work toward the spirit and requirements of applicable Canadian accessibility legislation, including the Accessible Canada Act.

What we do to support accessibility

  • Semantic, well-structured HTML with clear headings and page landmarks
  • Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information
  • Full keyboard navigation, plus a “Skip to content” link on every page
  • Visible focus states on links, buttons and form fields
  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and its background
  • Text that resizes and reflows without losing content or function
  • Form fields with associated labels and clear, helpful error messages
  • A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops
  • Respect for the “reduce motion” setting, with non-essential animation switched off

An ongoing commitment

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We review new pages and features before they go live, and we periodically audit the site to find and resolve issues. As standards and our store evolve, we update our approach — and this statement — accordingly.

Third-party content

Some parts of our store rely on trusted third-party services, such as our secure checkout, payment providers, product reviews and shipment tracking. While we choose partners who take accessibility seriously, we don’t control their code directly. If you ever have trouble with one of these features, please reach out and we’ll help you complete what you set out to do.

Browser & device compatibility

Our website is built to work with current versions of the major browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge — on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and with commonly used assistive technologies. For the best experience, we recommend keeping your browser and assistive software up to date.

Need a hand, or prefer to order another way?

If you experience any difficulty using our website, or you’d simply rather place your order by phone or email, we’re glad to help personally — including taking your order directly.

We aim to reply within one business day. It helps if you tell us the page you were on and what you were trying to do, so we can assist you quickly.

We welcome your feedback

Your feedback helps us improve. If you come across a barrier on our site, let us know what happened, the page you were on, and the device or assistive technology you were using — and we’ll do our best to put it right.
